Here is a pic of his latest battle wound from a hot water bottle!
Since Carey flew out the morning of the 4th, I decided to spend the day with my parents and my niece Jessica. I picked Jess up and she wanted to eat at Taco Bell so away we went. She ordered a taco salad and wanted 11 fire sauces on it!! (Yes, she LOVES hot stuff!) Well, she had on the cutest little white shirt on and I didn't want her to accidentally get any sauce on it so I told her to be careful and I would help her squeeze some of her many packets...well, Aunt Sissy had a little accident! Check out her shirt! Oops!It was all down the front of her shirt, on her neck, on her face, in her hair and in the booth behind us! When I want that much sauce on my taco, there is NEVER that much in there! She told me it was okay and that it was just an accident! What a great kid! I love her to death!!! Needless to say, we still had to make a Wal-Mart run to get her a new shirt!!!!
After that experience, we headed to the "I Love America" festival at Elmer Thomas Park hosted by my parents church First Assembly of God and also by Cameron Baptist Church. It was an incredible experience and there were about 20,000 people there.
The new amphitheater that was built had 8 Christian bands play throughout the day. The First Assembly and Cameron Baptist choirs did quite a spectacular performance as well.
They had lots of kid activities and face painting...Jess got both sides of her face done!
The Canadian Skyhawks were there skydiving and doing tricks as they were plummeting to the ground!
Dave Roever was the guest speaker and he was phenomenal! He is a Vietnam Vet who had a grenade blow up in his face. He spoke about his trials and tribulations and how he wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the Lord keeping him alive! He acknowledged all the military men and women, had them come down to the front and everyone sang God Bless America. It brought tears to many of our eyes! At the end of his talk, there were several hundred people who accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior! Praise our almighty God!!!! It was such a blessing for him to be there!
