How our lives change...

Well, Nat this blog is for the girls!

Think back to the last week of October when we came to you and J's apartment for a Saturday night. Little did I know, I had just met the love of my life! I think back to the craziness and laughter that occured...from the neighbor in his "little" outfit to us sitting in the back of MY car to Johna's potty break to Scott's fabulous fall (I am sitting here giggling about it now) to J.R. being nosy and trying to figure everything out to our scary faces and to our zoolander faces and to all the texting I was sending to my future husband! Here I am, 9 months later and married to the most wonderful and Godly man and more happy than I ever thought possible! And now you...You are engaged and planning an incredible wedding to my baby cousin who I love like a brother and I am so happy that you will soon officially be family and I will have another sister to love to go along with Kourt!

I had to add some pics from that night! ENJOY!

Yardy yar yar

Carey and the Power Team are still low on numbers at their crusade this week, so please say a prayer for them and for the town of Warwick to have a spiritual awakening! Thank you in advance for all of your prayers!

Also, just wanted to keep you posted on our crazy yard. I worked on raking the dirt yesterday for about an hour but was far from finished. So, today I worked on the east side of the house raking and then started hauling dirt from the east side to the west side of the house. The problem was...I only had a two gallon bucket to carry the dirt so after about 6 trips back and forth and two hours later, I called mom and dad to borrow a wheelbarrow. That was a genius idea!! They came over, took me to Wayne's for dinner (good fish and chips and a YUMMY vanilla coke) and we headed back to the house to finish the yard. I filled two wheelbarrow's full of dirt while dad shoveled it in the low spots. We worked until we literally couldn't see what we were doing! We worked a total of about three hours but I will finish the last little bit tomorrow and take some pics to post for you all to see. Thanks Daddy for all of your help and thanks Momma for watering for me! Love you both!

God Bless You!

Blessed

I just wanted everyone to know how blessed Carey and I are. We have such a wonderful family who will do anything and I mean anything for us. In such a short time, we have gone from each of us having a family separately to joining our families together. It means the world to Carey and me to know how much we are loved by you all!

God is so good and so mighty! He has blessed us this year in so many ways...a new best friend, a husband/wife, a new outlook on life, a new family, a new and beautiful home and we are so excited to see what lies ahead for us. We thank Him everyday for what we have and we don't take it for granted!

Please know that we pray for you daily and love you all so very much!

God Bless You!

Linda's Trip - Day 12

Day 12 - Wednesday

This morning was quite an early morning! Carey's alarm went off at 3:25 am since they all had to leave at 4 to get to the airport to catch their flights. I was sure sad to see everyone go, especially at the same time. They all made it home or to the crusade safely (Carey did have a lady throw up next to him on one of his flights! EWWW)

Please keep Carey and the Power Team in your prayers this week. They are in Warwick, RI and it may be a tough week in numbers for them.

Thanks for an awesome time Momma L and coming to stay with us and all that you did for us when you were here! Brenton, thanks for being crazy and silly and lots of fun! We love you both more!!!!

God Bless You!

Linda's Trip - Day 11

Day 11 - Tuesday

Today was a day of rest. I think we were all a little worn out from all the excitement of the weekend and definitely from Whitewater! Carey and Brenton played x-box and Wii for about 5 hours while Linda and I watched TV in the other rooms and just rested. We worked a little bit in the yard trying to finish some odds and ends before Carey left for his next crusade.

Mom came over to hang out and tell everyone good bye. We ordered pizza and just hung out for a while before everyone started to pack.

It was a nice day to end a great trip!

God Bless You!

Linda's Trip - Day 10

Day 10 - Monday

Today, Carey, me and Brenton drove to OKC in the rain to meet Shane, Jesse, Hunter and Mikey at Whitewater while Linda stayed and took care of our home. It looked like it wasn't the best day to go to a water park!

However, God is mighty and the rain slowed to a sprinkle as we pulled into the parking lot and stopped completely as we put our towels down in the chairs we wanted! We had so much fun! We even went down a slide called the Mega Wedgie and believe me...we all know how it got its name!!!! The kids had a great time and all played very well with each other. They were glad to see each other and the big kids (Carey, Shane and me) had a blast too! I think we went on every slide there (except two Hunter and Brenton informed us)! We arrived at 12:30 and left at 7 exhausted! I don't think we sat down but about 10 minutes twice to have a little snack. It was a long, but awesome day!

We ate at Burger King on the way home with Bubba (that is what I call Shane) and the kiddo's. I can say with certainty that we all fell asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillow!

God Bless You!

Linda's Trip - Day 9

Day 9 - Sunday

Today continued with the work in the yard. It got too hot yesterday to finish so we all started early again. (Well, I slept in a few hours longer than they did!)

I was sent to Sutherland's to buy some things for the second day in a row. Yesterday wasn't too difficult if you ignore the incompetent lady about the seeds we needed to buy which she had absolutely no idea about.

Today, however, was an entirely different story! To make a long story short, one incompetent guy told me that fence posts didn't come in color (I was trying to explain which ones I needed) but they came in stain...uh, okay. So girls say color and guys say stain. Tomato, tomato *I am saying it two different ways* WHO CARES!! Then he proceeds to ask me if it is for the outside....ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? No, nincompoop, I am building a fence in my living room! What kind of question is that?!? Once the boards were loaded on my cart, I was hitting everything in the store trying to drive the non drivable four wheeled invention (which I might interject at this point, why do all carts in supermarkets and other stores ALWAYS have that one wacko wheel that doesn't work? It infuriates me!) to the register to pay. Oh, let me back up about 30 minutes. When I first got there, I tried to get 8 pave stones and couldn't reach but only one. I attempted to find someone or something that was breathing to help me which is how I ended up from the garden part to the lumber part which brings me back to checking out. I told the lady I needed 7 more pave stones. She said she would call someone and told me to drive to the gated area in the garden part. I followed her directions and proceeded to wait around 15 minutes at which point I went back in to inform her that no one had shown up. She said "Well, I called them and I don't know what else to do." Uh, call them again!!!!! Good grief! That didn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out! Needless to say, when I finally got out of there, I soooo was not planning another trip to wackoville anytime soon....at least until I got home and realized I had gotten the wrong color of pave stones! My blood was boiling now! Off to some other land again! This time, I left feeling in control and not wanting to beat someone's head in with the STAINED fence post!!!! Really, a fence inside???? I guess my long story didn't stay short did it? OOPS!!!

Carey, Bryan and my dad continued to finish the trenches and the backyard before it got hot again and before we headed back to OKC to take Bryan to the airport. Here are some pics of the work being done.

Linda's Trip - Day 8

Day 8 - Saturday - Demolition Day

We woke up bright and early today around 6:45. Carey and his bro headed out to get the "Ditch Witch"...
We ate an awesome breakfast that momma L cooked (Thanks Momma L) and the guys got started working when we were finished. My dad showed up early to help too! As most of you know, we have had a small flood problem in our back yard. Here are some pics of the last horrific downpour that we received.

The guys started first digging two trenches, one on either side of the house to put in french drains and about 90 feet of pipe...

Once that was finished, it was time to deal with the backyard and the challenges that lay ahead with it.

Here is Bryan contemplating what to do with our crazy backyard...

This is the "Big Thing" that the guys loved driving...(Courtesy of Ryan H....Thanks!) They call it the Bob Cat but it is a New Holland so I guess I am confused as to what to call it...

When the guys were finished working, we all took a little rest and then headed over to my parent's house for a little swim to cool down and a home cooked meal. Mom cooked her yummy in my tummy fried potatoes and dad cooked hamburgers on the grill. We had a great time! Thanks mom and dad for cooking!

Thanks for all of your hard work today daddy!

Nighty night Brenton, Harley will protect you...Bryan is already zonked out...

God Bless You!

Linda's Trip - Day 7

Day 7 - Friday

I got some great surprises from my wonderful hubby today!

Aren't these beautiful... New fishies...

We took it pretty easy today since we had a pretty full week so far and we were going to drive to OKC to pick up Bryan (Carey's bro) and Brenton (Carey's nephew).

So this is what we did today...

Carey playing x box 360... His favorite new game Dirt... Momma L doing her cross word before we left for the airport...
The plane, of course, was delayed due to some problems in Dallas so we were in limbo as to when to leave. We decided to make it an adventure to pick up the rest of the family. My parents, me, Carey and Linda drove to the city in my dad's van and when we picked Bryan and Brenton up, we were quite packed out! (no pics from the airport...the last time I took pics in the airport, I thought my camera was going to get confiscated!) We were all starving so we headed to Texas Roadhouse to fill up our bellies! It was so crowded and sooo loud! We were all glad to get out of there! We headed back home with most of the group falling asleep in the car! We are so glad you are here Bryan and Brenton! We all crashed early because we have a big day tomorrow....

God Bless You!

Linda's Trip - Day 6

Another day of practice while my hubby and my mom in law slept in! We met my mom for lunch and headed over to Hobby Lobby for some great bargains!

I have been looking for a little console table to put in our entry way and we found the perfect one! We got it home and it was an inch and a half too big! The door wouldn't shut! Back to the store we went to take the table back and keep looking, this time with measurements of what would fit in the hall. We found the perfect thing! It is the right size and it even has drawers (which was essential)! Carey found it with his good eye! Thanks hubby!

While we were there, we also got a fur pillow to match our throw lined with fur. It's so pretty and soft...

And I wanted a board like this so I don't keep pics on my refrigerator...

We saw this faith sign and both moms and us just loved it so we got this and some more greenery for the kitchen...

Last but not least we decided we needed some new baker's racks. Here's why...when I was in college, I rented a house with three other girls and we didn't have much furniture so were were desperate for anything that would take up space in our huge house! Well, my uncle called and said he had two baker's racks if we wanted them...of course we did! Little did I know the story behind them until later. My uncle lived in a two story condo and next door to him was this older lady. He hadn't seen her in a while and when he was in bed at night, he started to smell an odd odor (her bedroom was next to his with a thin wall separating them). He came home from work one day to see men in plastic suits and masks going in and out of her house...yes, that's right...she had been dead for about a month just laying in her bed merely feet from his bed! Her family hadn't checked on her so no one knew! Well, her family just threw out all of her furniture on the curb and Unc knew I needed some things, so that is how I became the proud owner of the "dead lady's" baker's racks! I have continued to carry on her memory by continuing to use them but Carey finally said enough is enough! We found this awesome pair and loved them both! We have finally laid to rest the memory of the poor old lady...God Bless her!
