Bridesmaids...

Oh happy day!!!!! I arrived at work this morning (which by the way was the first day of school!) and Nat texted me to look at her and J's wedding website because she updated it. When I got a chance to look at it, I saw where she had listed the bridal party with pictures and had written an excerpt about each bridesmaid. To my surprise, my pic was on there! She had written such sweet words that I began to cry and called her crying like a blubbering baby and yes, I had students in my room at the time!!! I am so honored to be apart of their big day!!!!

A few hours later, Carey let me know that his cousin Tabitha was also getting married!!! She asked him to be her "bridesmaid!" He will look so cute in a little dress!! Not really about the dress but that is so neat that he is going to stand up beside her!

Now we have a fun and exciting next few months getting ready for two weddings!!!

God Bless You!

Weekend

Saturday we went to the Lawton Speedway to watch some races and saw some whopper wrecks with the sprint cars! We had a fun and silly evening just the two of us! I just love spending time with my hubby! After the races, our tummies were hungry so we headed to Taco Bell. I took this pic of the side of the building....all the little black things are crickets! It is the invasion of the crickets!!! AAAHHHHH!!!!!

Sunday, we went to church with my parents and my Grams came to church too! We all went to eat lunch and my cousin Erin and her boyfriend Josh joined us as well. It was a really nice time.

Volleyball Commitment Ceremony

Friday, my parents so wonderfully offered their house and swimming pool to host our volleyball commitment ceremony. We had around 45 girls eating hotdogs and swimming for three hours! Carey was the cook and he grilled some great dawgs for everyone! Enjoy the pics!

We also went to watch Walter race go carts Friday night. It was the first time we had been able to see him race and it was such a joy to watch him be the star and not just on the sidelines! Carey was so in his element and instantly began to coach him. He really listened and did much better in the final race than in his heat race. He won 2nd place and got a huge trophy!!!! We were so proud of him! Here are some pics from that night!

The Fan...

Here's a little story about our fan...

The fan in the bedroom didn't work well enough to cool our bedroom into what Carey hoped would feel like a meat locker so we headed out to buy a new one. We found one we both really liked at Lowe's and headed home to install it ourselves (well, Carey installing it while I read the directions). The fee to have Lowe's install it was $70 and that was just outrageous since Carey felt that he should be able to do it easily. This was the beginning of a very long and tedious two hours!!! In our defense, the directions were horrific! They were written as though we were electricians and understood all these crazy terms! Poor Carey fought with this crazy fan until the fan almost didn't make it! There were problems with the size of the screws, then the screws in the box were already stripped, we didn't understand (and still don't) a part that the instructions kept referring to, we had a wire left over after connecting all the wires we had, the wires are different from the ones Carey has dealt with in Missouri, we had to deal with the remote control transmitter and signal and make sure they were on the right channels, shove all the wires into a one inch area, and still had leftover parts when it was finally put together.

Now came the test, turn it on baby....waiting....waiting....and still waiting....no fan and no light! OH NO!!!! It's time to call someone...

So, I called Lowe's. $70 was now worth my husband's sanity and well worth it at that!!! After waiting on hold for who knows how long and then talking to someone who really didn't know much of anything, I finally figured out that someone MIGHT call me by Friday and they MIGHT install the fan on Friday but then again, it MIGHT be next week before they call and it MIGHT be next week before they can get to us but on the other hand it MIGHT be sooner! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? HAVE YOU MET MY HUSBAND? His personal thermostat is already on overdrive and now with no fan???? Click...I finally just hung up! Now my sanity was hanging in the balance...

At lunch earlier, we were eating with Brando, Tommye and Cindy. Cindy had mentioned that if we needed someone to help that her husband Fred was an electrician by trade. Little did we know how important those words would soon be!!! I called Cindy and within a few hours, the wonderful Young's came to the rescue!!!!

About thirty minutes after they arrived, we were all sitting in the bedroom just watching the fan go round and round and loving the cool air!!!! Cindy and Fred stayed for a little while just chatting and looking at pics. Carey and Fred had fun talking hunting and Nascar...C was in heaven talking about that!!! We really enjoyed their company! Thanks so much Cindy and Fred! We really appreciate it more than you know!!!! MUAH!!!!

God Bless You!

P.S. Remember the house fiasco with the water??? Well, the toilet started bubbling again last night as soon as we laid down to go to sleep! The tub and the shower filled with water and other dirty stuff too! Carey had to get up and use the plunger on the outside pipe and everything started working again. Please say a prayer that our sewer system stays unclogged and draining well! Thanks!

He's BAAACCKK.....

So YEA my hubby is home for three whole weeks! The crusade ended on a high note with the biggest crowd Sunday night and many salvations! The Holy Spirit was sure moving that night!

Carey got home on Monday and was sooo tired! We hung out around the house and then went to my Papa and Nana's for dinner. Papa and my mom cooked an awesome meal! They wanted Carey to have a good home cooked meal after being on the road for two weeks. They are the best!

After a day of rest, Tuesday we decided to run some much needed errands. On the way to Wal-Mart, we saw one of the best *mullets* I have EVER seen! (For those of you that didn't know, I am a mullet junky! My college friends and I use to have a Mullet Board in our house where we posted random pictures of mullets that we took from all over the US! Oh you should have seen some of those...) Anyway, back to the best mullet around...Carey and I both saw it and freaked out! It reminded us of Gallager with the bald spot on top and his hair was down his back!!!! He was trying to stay beside the car until I could get my camera out of my purse (of course it took FOREVER to find it but he did a great job of keeping up with the car!) Enough talk about it...a picture is worth 1000 words...or laughs in this matter!

***Disclaimer***If you have a mullet or a family member has one, then I do apologize. I am not making fun of the hairstyle, I am addicted to taking pics of it!!

Ok...back to us! We got a few fun things during our errands including matching watches...LEIGHOW POWERS ACTIVATE!!!

and a new shower head! Our other one was yucky and this one is awesome! Carey installed it in about 5 minutes! Yea for my handy man hubby! Thanks sweetie!

Carey cooked a tamale casserole and I got to use my Arthur Court chip and dip bowl that has never been used! I am loving being able to use all this pretty stuff that has never even been out of the box!

Here's a pic of Carey watering...our grass is the greenest in the neighborhood and our neighbors are wanting to know what C uses to make it look so good!

God Bless You!!!

Philippians 4:6-7

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

There may be lots of things to think about but nothing to worry about!

It's Always Friday...

Happy Friday ya'll!!

Just wanted to share a couple of pics Carey sent me while he is in Ohio.

Here he is yesterday right after the performance. They drew a crowd of around 200 and had 25 salvations! Praise Jesus!!!

This is him driving to the gym (yes, he took the pic WHILE he was driving!) and they took a few detours along the way and had some problems finding the gym! But put four big ole guys in a van and do you really think they would stop and ask for directions??? LOL!

Please continue to keep them in your prayers!
God Bless You!

Favorite Poem

The Road Not Taken (Robert Frost)

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,

And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long I stood

And looked down one as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair

And having perhaps the better claim,

Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

Though as for that, the passing there

Had worn them really about the same.

And both that morning equally lay

In leaves no step had trodden black

Oh, I kept the first for another day!

Yet knowing how way leads on to way,

I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh

Somewhere ages and ages hence:

Two roads diverged in a wood,

and I, I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

(The above poem is one that I had to recite in front of my reading class in 6th grade..I have loved it ever since..although I did not love the fact that I had to stand in front of 30 plus other students at the time..but the poem is one of my favorites now)

Happy Thursday!

Only three more days and a wake up until my hunka hunka hubby is home for three weeks! YEAH!!!!

Today, mom and I had a girls day! We got our nails and toes did and we look pertty now!!! Then we ate at Salas...YUMMY!!! My hubby doesn't care for the food there (I know..weird huh?) so my mommy took me to get my fix!!! Thanks Mommy!!!!!

Here is a pic of Carey after he finished working out with the guys. Please keep them all in your prayers as well as the town of Summit Station. Thanks!

Hubby's Gone...

Carey flew out this morning to Summit Station, Ohio which is east of Columbus. He didn't have to leave the house until 7:00 this morning (much better from his usual 3:30 departure time!) They are staying in a lake house and will be interacting with around 100 youth on Saturday. This crusade is a city wide crusade in a very small town. Their performance will be held in a no airconditioned high school gym that is about the size of a middle school gym.

Please keep all the guys (Carey, Jon, Jeff, and Mike) in your prayers this week as they will need it!

I love you honey and am praying for you all as well!

Here's a pic he sent me after the crusade tonight. They had around 120 people in the audience and 25 were saved! PRAISE JESUS!!!

God Bless You!

I love you day and another house fiasco!

Carey got home from his crusade Monday around 4:00 and I was so happy to see him!!!! When he gets home, I usually follow him around like his shadow just talking his leg off about complete nonsense but just to be near him makes me so happy!!! He's pretty good about it, just nodding and saying uh huh when I pause for air. After I followed him around watching him unpack, do laundry, check out the yard, look at the mail and play his new xbox 360 Nascar 08 game, we just hung out at home. It was so nice for us to be home and just to be us!

On Tuesday, I had to go to practice and when I got home we headed to eat some lunch and run a few errands. He surprised me with TWO dozen roses because he said it was "I love you" day! They are so beautiful and everytime I look at them I think of him!! Not long after that, we dealt with the newest home fiasco...the freezer was frozen! I know that sounds weird but the entire thing was frozen including all the food was frozen to it!!!!! We had to pull everything out and dry it out before we could start over! We think it all had to do with our ice maker. As of right now it is working so keep your fingers crossed!!! Once that was finished, Carey needed to relax (he had already fertilized the yard and washed my car!) so he played on the computer while I sewed some buttons on his jacket. Then he told me to continue with our "I love you" day, we were going on a date! He took me to Red Lobster and we had a great time! We were trying to make the most of our few short hours together since he was leaving the next day! It ended up being a great day together! Enjoy the pics!

God Bless You!

Sunday with the familia!

Sunday Shane, Jess, Hunter, Mikey, Alica, Lauren and Isaac drove down to Lawton to hang out with the fam, swim and have a cookout. We all had a great time and enjoyed getting to know Alicia and her sweet kiddo's. Enjoy the pics!

God Bless You!

Weekend with Shane...

Saturday I drove up to the city to watch Shane's softball tourney and to meet Lauren and Isaac. Shane's team did so so in the tournament but it was hot so it was nice to go home a little early. I took all five kids (Lauren 12, Jessica 8, Isaac 8, Hunter 5, and Mikey 3) to McDonald's by myself. They were pretty good but it was alot of kids!!!! Some day, one or two will be plenty for Carey and I!!! LOL! Enjoy pics from the day!

God Bless You!
